\
Our mission is to provide a scalable, secure, and user-focused trading environment where anyone can swap L0 tokens, earn rewards, and actively shape the platform’s future through governance.

Pacaswap revolves around liquidity pools, node operators, and its native L0 token SWAP. By combining efficient tokenomics with transparent decision-making, we aim to create an ecosystem in which every participant—from traders and liquidity providers to long-term token holders—has a voice.

### Why Pacaswap?

1. **Built on Constellation**\
   Leveraging Constellation Network’s L0 standard, Pacaswap offers high throughput, low fees, and a secure infrastructure
2. **Community-Governed**\
   Our governance model puts you in the driver’s seat. Lock your SWAP tokens to gain voting power and directly influence liquidity incentives, node operator rewards, and more.
3. **Rewards & Incentives**\
   Earn rewards through trading fees, SWAP emissions for liquidity providers, governance participation incentives, and node operation rewards. Our emissions schedule is designed for both short-term engagement and long-term community growth.
4. **Accessibility & Scalability**\
   Pacaswap makes it easy for new users to get started with swapping, providing liquidity, and claiming rewards. Plus, advanced users can tap into node operation and deeper governance mechanics to grow their influence over the platform.

### Our Vision

Pacaswap strives to become the liquidity backbone of the Constellation ecosystem—a place where projects and community members converge to trade, provide liquidity, and collectively decide on the platform’s evolution.

We’re thrilled to have you join us on this journey toward a truly community-powered DEX!

# Governance

Every month, Pacaswap holds a voting round that determines how the DEX's emission rewards are allocated across liquidity pools and node operators. This community-driven approach ensures that users with voting power (obtained by locking SWAP tokens) directly influence which pools receive the most rewards for that round.

<figure><img src="https://2122172138-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fmlb667J7u4TImwuYQivv%2Fuploads%2FMPzhfGg6Y2bd69RcduHe%2FBrowser%20-%20Governance.png?alt=media&amp;token=07e9d726-3a1b-441b-ac17-4a28e2638f41" alt=""><figcaption><p>Governance</p></figcaption></figure>

### How It Works

1. **Lock SWAP to Gain Voting Power**
   * Users lock their SWAP tokens for a chosen duration (e.g., 6 months, 1 year, or 2 years).
   * The longer the lock duration, the greater the voting power received.
2. **Allocate Votes**
   * Once you have voting power, you can distribute it across available liquidity pools and a node operator option.
   * You can spread your votes among multiple pools or allocate them all to a single option—it’s entirely up to you and your strategy.

<figure><img src="https://2122172138-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fmlb667J7u4TImwuYQivv%2Fuploads%2Fi25OTFFt7lVXwjaCjtv5%2FBrowser%20-%20Governance-CastVote.png?alt=media&amp;token=a800303b-2e2b-4a2f-830f-12078c756520" alt=""><figcaption><p>Casting a vote</p></figcaption></figure>

3. **Snapshot & Emission Allocation**

* At the end of each monthly round, the total voting power allocated to each pool and the node operator option is captured.
* The SWAP emissions designated for the community (75% of the monthly incentives) are then distributed proportionally based on the voting power each option receives.
* Liquidity providers in each pool receive rewards in proportion to their share of that pool’s liquidity, while node operators earn rewards based on the allocation to the node operator option.

4. **Governance Incentives**

* An additional governance incentive (from the fixed 20,000,000 SWAP allocated annually) is also distributed.
* These rewards go to participants based on their allocated voting power at the end of the voting round. Essentially, users who lock SWAP and actively vote, receive governance rewards in proportion to their share of the total allocated voting power.

5. **Ongoing Participation**

* Your voting allocations will **not** automatically carry over to the next month as such every month, users need to participate in the voting round and allocate their voting power.
* If you wish to adjust your votes, you can rebalance them at any point before the end of the monthly round so that those changes apply in the next month.

### Why Monthly Voting Matters

* **Community-Driven Incentives**: By assigning votes, you actively shape which pools or Node Operators receive the bulk of SWAP rewards steering liquidity growth toward the areas you believe are most beneficial.
* **Sustainable Ecosystem**: Regular voting encourages continuous engagement from token holders, ensuring decisions adapt to market changes and community sentiment.
* **Reward Alignment**: Voters are incentivized through governance rewards, motivating consistent participation and alignment with the long-term health of PACA Swap.

# Lock SWAP and Voting Power

<figure><img src="https://2122172138-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fmlb667J7u4TImwuYQivv%2Fuploads%2FM8Wnt3rtff02OMo7lqbc%2FBrowser%20-%20Lock.png?alt=media&amp;token=5caf1323-77d8-433b-9339-3339efbd39ad" alt=""><figcaption><p>Locking SWAP tokens dashboard</p></figcaption></figure>

The lock-up mechanism is designed to incentivize long-term commitment from SWAP token holders. By locking tokens for extended periods, holders gain increased voting power, allowing them greater influence over governance decisions.

<figure><img src="https://2122172138-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fmlb667J7u4TImwuYQivv%2Fuploads%2FiBDb4TWFanYb84jBWxwt%2FBrowser%20-%20CreateLock.png?alt=media&amp;token=0ae9fa30-be54-461e-995f-c2d99beeb64b" alt=""><figcaption><p>Locking SWAP for voting power</p></figcaption></figure>

* **Lock-Up Durations and Voting Power Multipliers**:
  * **6 months:** 1x voting power of the token amount locked
  * **12 months:** 2.5x voting power of the token amount locked
  * **18 months:** 4x voting power of the token amount locked
  * **24 months:** 7x voting power of the token amount locked

### Creating Multiple Locks

Users have the flexibility to create multiple locks with varying amounts and durations. This allows participants to tailor their voting power according to their preferences and strategic involvement in governance.

This flexibility enables users to manage their token commitments and voting power allocations efficiently.

### Example of Voting Power (VP)

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Note**: All figures and examples provided are based on the initial tokenomic for Pacaswap and may be subject to change based on Pacaswap governance decisions.
{% endhint %}

**Participants**: Alice and Bob

***

#### Alice

1. **Lock 1:** 4,000 SWAP for 24 months
   * Voting Power = 4,000 × 7 = **28,000 VP**
2. **Lock 2:** 2,000 SWAP for 6 months
   * Voting Power = 2,000 × 1 = **2,000 VP**

**Total Voting Power for Alice:** 28,000 + 2,000 = **30,000 VP**

***

#### Bob

1. **Lock 1:** 4,000 SWAP for 12 months
   * Voting Power = 4,000 × 2.5 = **10,000 VP**
2. **Lock 2:** 1,000 SWAP for 18 months
   * Voting Power = 1,000 × 4 = **4,000 VP**

**Total Voting Power for Bob:** 10,000 VP + 4,000 VP = **14,000 VP**

***

This example illustrates how users can create multiple locks to customize their voting power and deepen their governance involvement. By locking tokens for longer durations, participants receive higher multipliers on their locked amounts, thereby increasing their overall influence in Pacaswap’s decision-making processes.

# Liquidity pools

# Liquidity pools and Providing liquidity

## Liquidity Pools on PacaSwap

Liquidity pools are the core of PacaSwap. They allow users to trade tokens without relying on the traditional order book model.

### The Basics

A liquidity pool is a shared basket of two tokens. Users who contribute are called **liquidity providers (LPs)**. LPs deposit equal values of both tokens into the pool, making them available for anyone to trade at any time.

Every trade through a pool generates a small fee. These fees are collected and distributed back to LPs as a reward. On PacaSwap, some pools may also receive extra $SWAP incentives to encourage deeper liquidity.

### Why Liquidity Pools Matter

* **Instant trades**: Swaps execute automatically, no waiting for a buyer or seller.
* **Always available**: Liquidity is live 24/7, as long as tokens remain in the pool.
* **Open to all**: Anyone can become an LP and earn fees, not just professional market makers.

### Risks to Understand

Providing liquidity isn’t risk-free. The main consideration is **impermanent loss** — a temporary reduction in value that happens when the price of one token in the pool moves compared to the other. Pools automatically rebalance, so when you withdraw, you may hold:

* More of the token that lost value
* Less of the token that gained value

Fees and incentives can reduce or offset this effect, but it’s important to understand before depositing funds.

### Impermanent Loss (IL)

#### What it is

Impermanent loss occurs when token prices diverge. Because pools are designed to maintain balance, your share adjusts automatically, often leaving you with a different mix of tokens than you originally added.

#### Why “impermanent”?

* The loss only becomes real when you withdraw.
* If prices move back to the original ratio, the loss disappears.
* Trading fees and $SWAP rewards can help offset the impact, but not always entirely.

#### Example

Suppose you add $100 of DAG and $100 of USDC to a pool. If DAG doubles in price, the pool rebalances, giving you fewer DAG and more USDC. When you withdraw, your total balance may be worth less than if you had simply held both tokens.

The trade-off is that you earned swap fees (and possibly $SWAP incentives) during that time.

### Incentives and Governance

$SWAP token holders can lock their tokens to vote on which pools receive additional rewards. This gives LPs a reason to participate in governance — locking $SWAP and supporting the pools they provide liquidity to increases the incentives they can capture.

### Key Takeaways

* Liquidity pools make PacaSwap trading possible.
* LPs earn fees and, in some cases, $SWAP rewards.
* Impermanent loss is the main risk to understand.
* Governance matters: $SWAP holders decide where incentives flow.

By providing liquidity, you’re not only earning potential rewards, you’re also helping build the Constellation DeFi ecosystem.

# Node Operators

As Pacaswap is a DEX running on its own metagraph within the Constellation Network ecosystem. Node operators are essential for maintaining decentralization, validating transactions, and ensuring top performance of the Pacaswap metagraph.&#x20;

## The Role of a Node Operator

Node operators are vital to the Pacaswap network. Their responsibilities include:

* **Validating Transactions**: Ensure blockchain integrity by verifying transactions on the Pacaswap metagraph.
* **Monitoring Performance**: Maintain smooth network operations by regularly checking for and resolving any issues.
* **Troubleshooting**: Address and fix technical issues to keep the metagraph running seamlessly.

## Why Become a Node Operator?

1. **Support the Network** \
   Contribute to the reliability and decentralization of Pacaswap, fostering trust among traders and liquidity providers.
2. **Earn Rewards**\
   Qualified Node Operators receive incentives for running their node

{% content-ref url="/pages/26iBG64lMguYnjgWnXNZ" %}
[Emissions and Incentives](/tokenomics/emissions-and-incentives)
{% endcontent-ref %}

## How to become a node operator?

### Step 1: Enroll in the Queue

Sign up to participate in the *queue* , which determines the operator onboarding order at <https://lattice.is/rewards/hgtp-metagraphs/pacaswap/operators>.

### Step 2: Maintain Collateral

Keep 125,000 DAG in your wallet during the enrollment period to secure your place in the queue. If you’re already in the Integrationnet Node Operator Program, you can share the same collateral without needing additional DAG.

### Step 3: Transition to Mainnet

Once Pacaswap goes live on mainnet, you must deposit an amount of SWAP/DAG liquidity pool (LP) tokens equivalent to 125,000 DAG to officially become an operator on the live Pacaswap metagraph.

## Program Scope

* **Integrationnet Phase**\
  Around 10–20 nodes will be onboarded to the integrationnet first for testing. These operators get top priority when moving to mainnet.
* **Mainnet Launch**\
  A total of 100 nodes are planned for Pacaswap on mainnet, rolled out in stages.

## Requirements

1. **Lattice account**\
   Required for managing your application and program details.
2. **Discord Account**\
   Essential for support, updates, and community engagement.
3. **Collateral (125,000 DAG)**\
   Demonstrates commitment and secures your queue spot.
4. **Already in Integrationnet?**\
   No additional collateral is needed if you are sharing the same 125,000 DAG.

# Incentives Voting and Allocation

Users with voting power can distribute their votes among liquidity pools and extra incentives for node validators. Incentives are allocated proportionally, rewarding liquidity providers and node validators based on the votes received. This system empowers the community to actively shape the direction of platform incentives.

<figure><img src="https://2122172138-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fmlb667J7u4TImwuYQivv%2Fuploads%2FXJGgnUCW76DNX6XGd7rH%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=c595ad44-42b5-4452-b380-986a3435040a" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### Example of LP Incentives Distribution

* **Total LP Incentives for Epoch: Approximately 4,062,500 SWAP**
  * Calculation: (65,000,000 SWAP\* 75%) / 12 months ≈ 4,062,500 SWAP per month.
* **Participants:**
  * Alice's Voting Power: 4,500
  * Bob's Voting Power: 3,000
* **Total Voting Power:** 7,500

#### Allocation of Voting Power:

* **Alice:**
  * Allocates 2,500 voting power to Liquidity Pool A.
  * Allocates 2,000 voting power to Node Validator Incentives.
* **Bob:**
  * Allocates 3,000 voting power to Liquidity Pool B.

#### Total Votes for Each Option:

* Liquidity Pool A: 2,500 votes
* Liquidity Pool B: 3,000 votes
* Node Validator Incentives: 2,000 votes
* Total Votes: 7,500 votes

#### Distribution:

* **Liquidity Pool A:**
  * Percentage of Total Votes: (2,500 / 7,500) \* 100% = 33.33%
  * Incentives Allocated: 4,062,500 SWAP\* 33.33% ≈ 1,354,167 SWAP
* **Liquidity Pool B:**
  * Percentage of Total Votes: (3,000 / 7,500) \* 100% = 40%
  * Incentives Allocated: 4,062,500 SWAP\* 40% ≈ 1,625,000 SWAP
* **Node Validator Incentives:**
  * Percentage of Total Votes: (2,000 / 7,500) \* 100% = 26.67%
  * Incentives Allocated: 4,062,500 SWAP\* 26.67% ≈ 1,083,333 SWAP

This ensures that incentives are distributed fairly according to user preferences and voting power allocations.

# Governance Incentives

20,000,000 SWAP tokens are set aside annually as fixed governance incentives to encourage governance participation. These incentives are also distributed monthly.

* Monthly Governance Incentives: Approximately 1,666,667 SWAP
  * Calculation: 20,000,000 SWAP / 12 months ≈ 1,666,667 SWAP per month.

The incentives are distributed on a pro-rata basis according to each holder's allocated voting power during the epoch.

### Example of Governance Incentives Distribution

* Total Governance Incentives for Epoch: Approximately 1,666,667 SWAP.
* Participants:
  * Alice's Allocated Voting Power: 4,500
  * Bob's Allocated Voting Power: 3,000
* Total Allocated Voting Power: 7,500

#### Distribution:

* Alice:
  * Holds 4,500 / 7,500 = 60% of the total allocated voting power.
  * Alice's Incentive Share: 1,666,667 SWAP \* 60% ≈ 1,000,000 SWAP&#x20;
* Bob:
  * Holds 3,000 / 7,500 = 40% of the total allocated voting power.
  * Bob's Incentive Share: 1,666,667 SWAP \* 40% ≈ 666,667 SWAP&#x20;

This example demonstrates how allocated voting power directly influences the share of governance incentives received by each participant.

# Treasury and Fee Allocation

PacaSwap generates revenue through:

* **Swap Fees**: A 0.30% fee on trades.
  * **0.25%** goes to liquidity providers.
  * **0.05%** goes to the DEX DAO treasury.
* **DAG Delegation Fees**: Fees collected from $DAG delegation to the metagraph nodes.

These funds are used to support the ongoing development and maintenance of the DEX, ensuring it continues to thrive and deliver value to its participants.

# Initial Distribution

The initial supply of **200,000,000 DEX** tokens will be airdropped to community members who have contributed to key areas of the network. This ensures that tokens are distributed to those who have actively supported the platform from its inception.

The distribution is as follows:

<figure><img src="https://2122172138-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fmlb667J7u4TImwuYQivv%2Fuploads%2FtYZtFaRzedce75cGVSb5%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=fc6fb8d4-dbd5-4b0f-8ecb-49552269c07e" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

* Lattice - 35%
  * LTX Holders - 25% (snapshot taken on July 9, 2024)
  * LTX Treasury - 10%
* DAG Ecosystem - 29%
  * DAG Holders - 26%  (snapshot taken on July 9, 2024)
  * Stardust Collective - 3%
* El Paca - 26%
  * 1st Snapshot - 6% (snapshot taken on October 24, 2024)
  * 2nd Snapshot - 20% (snapshot taken on July 9, 2024)
* PacaSwap DAO - 10%

This initial distribution lays the foundation for a decentralized and community-driven DEX.

# Eligible balances - Snapshot Data

***

### 1. Setup Stargazer Wallet

* Open your Stargazer Wallet and switch the network to Integrationnet

***

### 2. Get Test DAG

You’ll need test DAG tokens to start using the DEX.

* Copy your DAG wallet address from Stargazer.
* Paste it into this faucet URL, replacing `{your DAG wallet address}`:

```
https://faucet.constellationnetwork.io/integrationnet/faucet/{your DAG wallet address}
```

* Open the link in your browser.
* You should receive test DAG shortly after.

***

### 3. Perform Your First Swap

<figure><img src="https://2122172138-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fmlb667J7u4TImwuYQivv%2Fuploads%2FIlBNav5YnvdqHxv4f4XT%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=091e57c8-d126-4e37-9fad-705ffe103cd6" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Once your test DAG is received, you can make your first swap.

#### Steps:

* Go to the **Swap** tab.
* Select **DAG → SWAP**.

> SWAP is the native token of the DEX and is required for governance participation.

#### Before proceeding:

* **Slippage Tolerance**:\
  This defines the maximum price difference you're willing to accept between initiating and executing the swap.\
  You can adjust it using the ⚙️ settings icon. Default is 1%.
* **Price Impact**:\
  Shows how much your trade will shift the token price in the pool.
* **Fees**:\
  Swap fees go to liquidity providers and the protocol.

#### Swap Process:

* When initiating the swap, your DAG will be locked.
  * If you complete the swap, it finalizes normally.
  * If you abandon the swap, your tokens will unlock automatically after 30 minutes.
* After locking, the Swap button becomes active.
* Complete the swap to receive your SWAP tokens.

### 4. Lock SWAP Tokens

<figure><img src="https://2122172138-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fmlb667J7u4TImwuYQivv%2Fuploads%2FSjMXukmK9rRUgPvTBo1k%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=11dcf8be-8878-421e-a53d-d91dade09fd1" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

To participate in governance, you need to lock your SWAP tokens.

#### Steps:

* Navigate to the **Lock** tab.
* Click **Create New Lock**.

You’ll be prompted to set:

* **Amount**:\
  Minimum: 1,000 SWAP
* **Duration**:\
  The longer the lock, the higher your voting power (VP).

Once the lock is created, you'll see it listed under "My Locks" with:

* Locked amount
* End date
* Voting power
* Rewards earned

📌 **Notes**:

* Each wallet can have up to 10 active locks.
* Locked tokens cannot be withdrawn early.

### 5. Participate in Governance

<figure><img src="https://2122172138-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fmlb667J7u4TImwuYQivv%2Fuploads%2FfBcgv2xf0YKpBHH4hIR7%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=3f86b1fd-8ae0-49c9-b89e-914913eee868" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

With SWAP locked, you gain voting power (VP) to help decide where rewards go each round.

#### Voting Options:

* Liquidity pools
* Node validators

#### How to Vote:

* Go to the Governance tab.
* You’ll see:
  * Current round number
  * Time remaining
  * Your total voting power
  * List of all pools and options
* Click Edit Votes.

On the Vote Allocation page:

* Allocate exactly 100% of your voting power.
* Use the preset buttons (25%, 50%, 100%) or enter custom percentages.
* Click Apply Votes to confirm.

You can update your votes at any time during the round.\
Once the round ends:

* You’ll need to allocate again your VP as your vote allocation does not transfer automatically between rounds.
